The customer, a hospital, required a dependable fuel pumping system to ensure a consistent, as well as efficient supply of fuel to the daily service tanks powering their emergency and standard operation generator units. The system needed to prioritise safety, reliability, and uninterrupted fuel delivery to support critical functionality, therefore ensuring the hospital could continue its vital operations without compromise.
The challenge
The customer required a robust fuel pumping system. This would supply fuel efficiently to the daily service tanks of emergency and normal operation power generator units. In addition, the system needed to be reliable, safe, and capable of ensuring uninterrupted fuel delivery.

What we did
The installation utilised high-performance equipment to ensure efficiency, precision, and safety throughout the system. For precise fuel level monitoring, an EDM-40 probe was employed as the main tank control, while leak detection was managed using a DDP-25 interstitial chamber detector to safeguard against potential fuel leaks. The pump systems included two duplex fuel pumps RL 7, capable of transferring 5,300 litres per hour for primary fuel transfer, and five simplex fuel pumps FP 90, delivering 900 litres per hour to individual generators. Additionally, two SAFA fuel polishing systems were incorporated to maintain optimal fuel cleanliness and quality.
The Results
Hytek’s tailored solution provided the customer with a reliable, efficient, and safe fuel pumping system capable of meeting their operational demands. The dual supply systems, combined with advanced monitoring and control via redundant PLCs, ensured uninterrupted fuel delivery. By integrating precision equipment such as the EDM-40 probe and SAFA fuel polishing systems, the installation not only improved operational efficiency but also reduced the risk of downtime and fuel contamination.
