Longcliffe Ltd is a leader in limestone quarrying who required an advanced fuelling solution. They operate a large fleet of haulage vehicles, as well as company pickups and cars, to support their transport operations. To enhance the efficiency of thier transportation, Longcliffe identified the need for a modern, purpose-built fuelling station.
The challenge
The existing fuelling setup at Longcliffe Ltd’s site lacked the capacity to refuel gas oil tankers, requiring them to travel to a separate location at the quarry, half a mile away. This setup was inefficient, particularly for a large fleet.
Longcliffe needed a more streamlined solution that would bring all refuelling operations to a single, well-equipped site, while also accommodating the broader needs of their transport department.

The solution
Longcliffe’s vision for the new fuelling station included not only efficient refuelling capabilities but also additional facilities to support its transport team. The station was designed to be adjacent to the newly built transport garage, ensuring all transport operations could be managed from one centralised location.
Implementation
To meet Longcliffe’s needs, Nixon Pumps was brought in to install the fuelling equipment, with Hytek’s products being the preferred choice for fuel management systems and pumps. The installation included:

The new fuelling station has transformed Longcliffe’s transport operations, enabling the company to refuel all vehicles in one location. This upgrade has significantly improved efficiency, with the facility now serving Longcliffe’s fleet of 38 HGVs. As well as pickups and company cars, on a weekly basis.
