Hytek enters the world of Motorsport a HVO dispensing case study

We are excited to announce that a motorsport team, who have won multiple world championships at the pinnacle of their sport recently contacted us to help with their HVO dispensing requirements. We’d be lying if we said we weren't all rather excited with this opportunity.

As you would expect, we quickly got to work. Having reviewed the enquiry, James Canning from our team decided to engage the help of our good friend Mark Rodda, from County Pumps Ltd, who, as we have come to expect, handled the case expertly with the end user. One of the most challenging parts of the request was that the end client needed the order fulfilled in just under 3 weeks; because our HVO dispensing kit was needed for the first European race of their season, to be held at the world-famous Imola circuit in Italy.

We accommodated the end user’s unique needs with our 1,000 litre intermediate bulk container/tank, equipped with a diesel dispensing kit. We revised the kit to meet their exact specifications and are confident they’ll be delighted with the final product. Here’s a few more details of what we did:

  • The standard mechanical flowmeter with an accuracy of +/-2% was replaced by an electronic meter with battery-powered display, improving the accuracy to +/-0.5% (4 times more accurate) and easier to read display.
  • A 6-meter delivery hose was required, instead of the standard 4-meter hose, to fill the generator tanks. The tanks are located in an awkward position and the extra 2 meters of hose will make refuelling easier and less likely to cause spills. The hose is equipped with an automatic nozzle that shuts off the flow of fuel when the generator tank is full.
  • We provided an external weatherproof mains junction box (to allow a longer 10m power cable as per customer request), standard cable 2m.

Our kit is designed to be easily mounted on IBCs, using a portable side mount bracket. The pump and meter are already fitted onto it. A quick-release suction hose is attached to the suction side, which can be easily transferred from one IBC to another. Similarly, a 6m hose and automatic nozzle are connected to the delivery side for easy dispensing.
