Tank dryers are devices or absorbent materials designed to remove water from fuel storage tanks. Water contamination in fuel tanks can occur due to condensation, leaks, or poorly sealed fill points, leading to various issues such as microbial growth, rust, and fuel degradation. These dryers prevent these problems by absorbing free water at the bottom of the tank, helping to keep fuel clean and dry for optimal performance and longevity.

These dryers typically contain desiccant materials, such as silica gel or super-absorbent polymers. These materials have a high capacity for water absorption. The dryer is placed inside the fuel tank or suspended just above the fuel. As water vapour or liquid water contacts the desiccant, it is absorbed and trapped. Therefore, preventing it from mixing with the fuel. This process helps maintain the fuel’s integrity and reduces the risk of water-related contamination.
