Ball valves are versatile and widely used to control the flow of liquid by using a rotating spherical ball with a hole (bore) through its centre. When the ball’s hole is aligned with the flow direction, the valve is open, allowing fluid to pass through. When rotated 90 degrees, the hole is perpendicular to the flow, closing the valve and stopping the flow.
