Description

This plastic adaptor is a must have when fitting the OMNi or HAWKi to a steel or stainless steel tank when you have a spare or existing 1.5" BSPP female thread Hytek proudly distributes the innovative Magnus OMNi and HAWKi Tank Monitor, the world’s first battery-powered remote radar tank level monitor. This cutting-edge device provides accurate, touch-free solids and fluid level readings using advanced radar technology. Every unit is thoroughly tested through Hytek’s rigorous in-house quality inspections, ensuring consistent performance and durability

Why Buy

  • Please check with us first if you are installing the OMNi or HAWKi Magnus tank monitor to a steel tank as we need to check a few things with you to ensure it will be suitable
  • Installation on a steel tank must be done by a professional or warranty is void
  • This plastic tank adaptor is ideal when you are fitting either an OMNi or HAWKi to a steel tank with an existing opening suitable for a 1.5" BSPP male thread
  • You will require a stainless steel pipe (must be 1.25" OD) that fits inside the tank that must reach to the bottom and have a 45 degree angle cut
  • Remember to ensure you have adequate headspace above the tank to be able to insert the pipe, its more of an issue if the tank is indoors
  • Check there are no obstructions inside the tank
  • Do not use the tank fill points or the tank vent
  • If you have to use the existing tank vent, often you will have on choice on chemical tanks or stainless steel tanks, as this can be the only option, you still require our 1.5" adaptor (AD.MM6) and a replacement vent cap (VENT.PC) these fit together and the wave guide pipe is used in the same way
  • When installing the OMNi tank monitor ensure you have a good signal at the tank for the modem Sim to work
  • Open the Toolbox App and start as new installation, as signal checks are done at the start of this process

Key Features

  • This tank adaptor for steel tanks has a 1.5" BSPP male thread suitable to screw into an existing 1.5" BSPP female socket on top of the tank
  • This adaptor has an internal diameter of 1.25" OD (no thread) that the tank wave guide (stainless steel pipe, not supplied) sits inside this adaptor (stainless steel pipe must be 1.25" OD) and the existing two screws are used to secure the wave guide pipe onto the adaptor (you will need to drill this wave guide pipe to allow these screws to tighten onto the pipe)
  • You also need to cut a 45 degree angle on the bottom of this wave guide pipe, 5cm shorter than the full tank height, this allows the liquid to freely flow up and down the pipe and prevents any sludge at the bottom of the tank from clogging it up
  • IMPORTANT drill a small hole approximately 5cm from the top of the pipe to allow for ventilation and prevents airlocks
  • The OMNi or HAWKi is secured to the top of this adaptor using a suitable sealant (sealant must only be applied round the edge) DO NOT apply sealant to the opening in the centre as this affects the radar and the accuracy of the monitor, tank readings would be erratic

    Options

  • We offer a 2" bspp version of this adaptor for fitting onto a spare 2" BSPP female socket on the exiting steel tank (AD.MM8)
  • Installation on a steel tank must be done by a professional or warranty is void
  • If you need to use the existing vent as no other tank openings are available we offer a special vent cap (VENT.PC) and you will also require a 1.5" adaptor (AD.MM6) please discuss the installation with us first
